Baking Instructions

🍪 The Backpacker: Baking Instructions

Hearty, energy-dense fuel for the vertical athlete.

  • Yield: Approx. 36 Cookies

  • Prep: 15 Min | Bake: 10–12 Min

🛒 You Will Need

  • 1 ½ cups Peanut or Almond Butter

  • ½ cup (1 stick) Unsalted Butter, softened

  • 3 Large Eggs

  • 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract (optional)

  • The Included Kit: Bag 1 (Dry Mix), Bag 2 (Sugars), Bag 3 (Trail Fuel)

🥣 Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Preheat & Prep: Heat oven to 350°F. Line your baking sheets.

  2. Cream: In a large bowl, mix Nut Butter, Sugars, and Softened Butter until smooth.

  3. Combine: Mix in eggs and vanilla.

  4. Fold: Gradually add the Dry Mix bag. Stir until just combined.

  5. Add Fuel: Stir in your Trail Fuel Blend (or press them into the tops of the dough balls for a cleaner look).

  6. Scoop: Drop heaping spoonfuls 2 inches apart.

  7. Bake: Bake for 10–12 minutes. They should look soft; they firm up as they cool!

  8. Cool: Let rest for 5 minutes on the tray, then move to a wire rack.

⛰️ Trail Tips

  • Natural PB: Stir oily peanut butter thoroughly before measuring to ensure a perfect bake.

  • Storage: Let cookies cool completely before bagging for your hike to keep them crisp.

  • Vanilla Swap: Swap vanilla for 1 tsp Maple Syrup for an extra “woodsy” flavor profile.
